For most of the games, developers would make use of these four important steps, which are exposition, conflict, climax and resolution to make players want to continue playing the game. As humans have this urge of challenging themselves, after they are done with level one, they would look forward to what’s coming up next (level 2 and so on). That’s why these four steps are very important in making good games. We would use a very simple game like Chivalry is Not dead.
Exposition - In Chivalry is Not dead, you would be playing a guy wearing a tight black suit with a paper beg on his head. And the case here is that you have sworn loyalty to the evil lord horrible who wants to rule the world and now he wants you to assassinate the Queen of Everything.
Conflict - Before reaching the climax, there are this things you would have to go through, for an example those low hp monster that comes in herds and their bosses, those are part of the conflicts in the game. In Chivalry is Not dead, we would have to talk to a few characters and every choice of your answers would lead to different things, the first conflict in this game is a Buffed-Up yet fearless guard who is guarding the door preventing you from reaching the queen, but would always end up dead. You would have to kill him no matter what if you want to continue the game. Next you would meet up with a guy called Leslie whom pictures you as disgusting but ends being persuaded by the queen to join the team and following you around like a puppy. After that, we would have to get the sword of all good, and the problem is that its overpriced and impossible for you to buy it, therefore we would need to find out the way how to obtain it. Then after that we arrive at the climax. (All this would only happen if you haven’t kill the queen)
Climax - The climax is usually the final battle and hardest mission to complete. This is the part where you, the queen and Leslie meet Lord Horrible to sort things out. The ending would depend on the choices you make. You can kill Lord Horrible and let the queen return to her rightful place as ruler of the world or you could remain loyal to Lord Horrible and kill the queen. Other options are you kill everyone and rule the world or let Leslie rule it by giving him the sword and ending up killing the queen and Lord Horrible.
Resolution - There are all sorts of ending. Good, bad, happy, sad and so on. For an example, after you completed a war game, there will be a short clip on how you celebrate your success and bring peace to your country. This is the resolution of the story. In the game Chivalry is Not dead, the resolution is the part where the ruler stands where you first approach the queen and says a bunch of words. The person there could be anyone. Killing everyone will make you the ruler, killing the queen would make Lord horrible take over the world, helping her makes her remain as ruler and if Lord Horrible and Queen of Everything is killed in the process, that would make Leslie rule the world.
